We thank You today in a special way for our Sisters and Brothers of the Lutheran Church in the United States.
Gracious and good God! We thank You today in a special way for our Sisters and Brothers of the Lutheran Church in the United States. We thank You for their openness and commitment to service to the neighbors. You have chosen them to be Your instrument, and they are faithfully carrying out their vocation, bringing invaluable help to the needy, disadvantaged and socially excluded.
We ask You today for Your blessing on their daily activities. Surround them with protection and guide them safely through all sorts of hardships and experiences.
We also ask You that by looking at the good testimony of others, we may learn the right lessons and all of us may learn such commitment to Your Church and the people who live beside us.
So that, appreciating what we have, we are able and willing to share with those in need. Sensitize our hearts to the other human beings, so regardless of what divides us, we may be able to form good relations among ourselves across divisions.
We entrust ourselves to your protection in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
