Prayer for Italy

Merciful God, Gracious Father, we come to you today with confident prayer for our sisters and brothers from the Apennine peninsula.

We wish to join in prayer today with our fellow Christians from the diasporic Lutheran Church of Italy. We thank You, God, for their tremendous witness and commitment to the work of leveling the playing field and eliminating all prejudice. Therefore, we ask You to strengthen their faith and give them the strength to continue their work for the benefit of others and You, God, for glory.

We also want to pray for all those who are suffering as a result of the migration crisis. Let those who seek refuge and help find peace. At the same time, help stop those who gain fortunes from harm and suffering.

May Your Holy Spirit guide us all, give us wisdom and prudence so that we can find the right way out and answers to the crises of the modern world.
