Ongoing Projects with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria

Cooperation with Lutherans in Bavaria.

Recent collaborations with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria provided the occasion for talks with Pastor Raphael Quandt, who oversees ecumenical relations with churches in Central and Eastern Europe.

Pastor Quandt visited Poland from April 16 to 19 this year. His visit commenced in Słupsk, where, accompanied by Bishop Jerzy Samiec and International Relations Coordinator Anna Wrzesinska, he toured the Evangelical Center for Diaconia and Dialogue. The center’s renovation was made possible in part by the support of the Evangelical Church in Bavaria. The delegation gained insight into the scale of the renovation and met the people who call the center their home. Pastor Quandt also had the opportunity to meet with the Mayor of Słupsk, Krystyna Danilecka-Wojewódzka, who highlighted the significant role of the local Evangelical parish in supporting senior citizens and its importance to the community.

In Warsaw, Pastor Quandt met with the board of the Society for Pastoral Psychology to discuss a second key project: the development of pastoral ministry within the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland. Additionally, he engaged in discussions with the Polish Church’s bishop, addressing current challenges, ongoing cooperation within the Community of Protestant Churches in Europe, and future plans for continued collaboration between our churches.
