Prayer for Malawi

Lord Jesus Christ, so much drives us away from you: empty striving, trivial joys, meaningless bitterness. Our pride also drives us away from you and we are too scared to ask for your help.

However you are the strength above all things, therefore draw us stronger towards You.

Today, we ask for Your blessing and guidance for Christians in Malawi, and especially for the many committed Lutherans who live in this country. Please support them in their challenges and help them cope with the problems they face.

Since You came down to earth to save the lost and enslaved, we call You our Saviour and Redeemer – this is Your work in which You will not cease until the end of the world. And because You have said so, therefore it shall be done – You who ascended into Heaven, draw us to Yourself.
