Dear Father, in our prayers we remember Christians and churches from distant places around the world, but we also remember those who are close by. Today we join in prayer for our southern neighbors – the people of the Czech Republic.
We especially ask for your protection for Christians, who make up several percent of the country’s ten million inhabitants. We remember all those who preached Your Word in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, especially pastor Jan Hus and Jerzy Trzanowski, who also made their mark in our history.
To You, almighty God, we entrust all the Evangelical Churches operating in the Czech Republic, and we think especially warmly of our sisters and brothers from Zaolzie. We thank You for their faithfulness, while asking for Your guidance, protection and presence.
Grant that the Christian Churches may always be a place of encounter with Jesus Christ. Amen.
