The Lutheran parish in Wisla, which belongs to the Diocese of Cieszyn, gathers about 3,000 members. It is located deep in the Silesian Beskid, neighbouring the Czech Republic to the west. The cornerstone of the church was laid on June 29, 1833, making it the oldest church in the city. The parish runs a parish choir, a children’s choir, a musical ensemble and a women’s circle. It also runs additional activities – a bookstore and room rentals. Wisla is an important sport, leisure and tourist centre. Tourists vacationing in Wisla have at their disposal tens of kilometres of hiking trails, several ski lifts and about 20km of ski slopes.
