The Year of the Confession of Faith

2025

During the 3rd session of the 15th Synod of the Church (April 5–7, 2024), the Synod declared the year 2025 as the Year of the Confession of Faith.

The Year of the Confession of Faith refers to the 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea, convened in response to the Arian crisis. At this first post-apostolic, pan-Christian assembly, not only was a universally accepted confession of faith developed, but also conciliarity (synodality) as a means for the pilgrim Church to address new challenges.

In 2025, the Masurian Diocese will celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, which is linked to the establishment—under the protection of the Polish king—of the Duchy of Prussia, the first country in the world based on the principles of the Evangelical faith.
