Prayer for vocations
At its spring session, the Synod decided that during church services on the Rogate Sunday (Pray Sunday), congregations will be encouraged to pray especially for vocations.
The Sunday of Prayer for Vocations was established on the initiative of Bishop Jerzy Samiec. In the rationale of the motion he wrote:
"We believe that God calls every human being to perform a certain task. We want to pray that every person, especially young people on the threshold of their lives, will ask the Saviour about their vocation and will choose the path indicated to them. Realizing the great need to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the world, let’s ask the Lord to call those who will carry the Good News to those in need."
In 2019, the prayer for vocations will take place on Sunday, May 26th.
