Request for prayers after tragedy in Szopienice.

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Today we received tragic news from the parish in Szopienice. Because of a gas explosion, the parish building was half destroyed.

After a rescue operation, the bodies of two people were found. In hospital, there is currently one man with burns and two children of the parish vicar.

The parish pastor and his family were not injured. The Ukrainian family who lived in the building were not affected.

Once the specific needs are identified, we will communicate what help the families may need.

Thank you for all the words of support and assurances of prayers we have received. At this difficult time, we ask for your continued prayers especially for those in hospital, the pastors and their families, the family of the people who died, all those affected, and the entire Szopienice parish.

"The Lord is near to the broken-hearted,

and saves the crushed in spirit.". Ps 34:19

Yours in Christ
